1897 Marian Davies was born Marion Cecilia Douras in Brooklyn, NY on January 3. She was the last of five children born to Bernard and Rose Douras. Her father was a lawyer.
1910 She made her Broadway debut in THE BLUE BIRD. She was a chorus girl.
1915 She met William Randolph Hearst and became his mistress. The two had a relationship for more than 34 years. All of her films between 1917 and 1937 were produced by W.R. Hearst's Cosmopolitan Productions.

1993 It was revealed that Patricia Van Cleve Lake was the daughter of Davies and Hearst. Until then she was thought to be the daughter of Davies' sister, Rose.
